The association gmp (from Gerkan, Marg and partner Hamburg) - INROS LACKNER AG has been awarded with the first price of the international competition for the new building of the museum for town history in Hanoi. INROS LACKNER is responsible for the technical building equipment, the structural design as well as the infrastructure design. The project is located next to the National Convention Center with an site area of 5.4 ha.
The four-storey building has 14,000m² of exhibition and service areas above ground. The two conference rooms for 500 and 400 guests each as well as the technical systems are located in the basement. As a special feature, the entire structure of the slabs is taken down from the roof structure to provide a column-free first level. The landscape design include exhibition areas, parks and lakes.
